Ultime Pro Xpert Cover Pressed Powder

The base-pressed powder is essential for every makeup enthusiast. If that isn't flawless, the rest of the makeup will not be applied. Some people want to go all out, while others prefer to keep it inconspicuous. So, today I'll talk about something in the middle, neither too light nor too severe. Faces Canada has created the Ultime Pro Xpert Cover.

The FACES CANADA Ultime Pro Xpert Cover provides a flawless matte finish and an even skin tone. Its three-in-one product (compact powder and concealer) offers the skin a smooth texture and hides all blemishes and stains. It contains Vitamin E, which fights free radicals, promotes cell function, and acts as an anti-aging agent. Its oil-free formula and light texture keep your skin looking radiant and natural all day.

Ivory, Natural, Beige, and Sand are four universally attractive tones of FACES CANADA Weightless Stay Matte Compact. Choose the color that best suits you!

      1. Natural/ Ivory: People in this group have a pink or beige complexion. Your veins are primarily blue if you check under your wrist.
      2. Natural/Beige/Sand: This group of people has a somewhat green-brown skin tone with a neutral undertone. Your veins are a combination of blue and green if you look under your wrist.
      3. Ivory/Sand: People with mostly yellow or golden complexion tones come into this group. Your veins are predominantly green with a warm undertone if you check under your wrist.

      Packaging

This item is packaged in a black glossy paper box with complete product information. A matte black compact container houses the product. It is sturdy, secure, and long-lasting, suitable for travel. It contains a built-in underside mirror for convenient application even while traveling. The container is well-designed and includes a sponge. The sponge may be used wet since the base pressed powder contains small perforations that allow it to dry and stay odor-free. You can wash the white sponge several times because it gets filthy quickly.

      Texture

It boasts a buttery soft creamy feel and claims to perform as a pressed powder, concealer, and compact all in one. It didn't make your skin greasy or glossy, even though you have combination skin. It dries quickly and lays on the skin like a second skin. To avoid any dryness or blotchy look, you can apply it to a hydrated face. It blends well and applies quickly on moist/moisturized skin compared to a base pressed powder. It has a matte finish that isn't oily and feels like a second skin. You will like how it gives a no-makeup appearance.

      Coverage and Durability

It's a sheer to medium coverage face makeup; no matter how much you layer it, you won't get complete coverage. The name does not provide comprehensive coverage. It cannot be used as a concealer since the coverage is insufficient. To conceal dark circles, you'll not need any particular concealer. It remains oil-free for up to 5 hours before becoming somewhat greasy. It will stay matte for longer if you set it with a different powder.

      Feature:

      • 3-in-1 formula (compact, powder, and concealer)
      • Lightweight and oil-free recipe
      • Gives skin an even matte finish.
      •  Available in 4 hues, Enriched with Vitamin E, it Has anti-aging characteristics.

      How to apply:

      1. Gently swipe the applicator clockwise on the compact powder to acquire the required quantity.
      2. For a matte finish, gently apply compact to your face and neck.
      3. Reapply every 3-4 hours for healthy, glowing skin throughout the day.
      4. It's also great for baking and sealing your makeup look.

When Should You Use pressed powder vs. Concealer to Get the Look You Want

Which came first, the concealer or the pressed powder?

If you're puzzled about what to put on the first while applying makeup (or why you should include both in your daily routine), you're not alone. Whether you should apply pressed powder before concealer (or vice versa) is contentious among makeup artists.

We're here to answer the question once and for all, so keep reading for Ipsy-approved beauty tips and tricks one step at a time.

What Is the Difference Between pressed powder & Concealer?

You have pressed powder and concealer in your makeup bag and use them regularly, but do you know what distinguishes the two products? Although they both help to smooth out imperfections and reduce the appearance of fine wrinkles and blemishes, they serve two distinct purposes. They're adequate on their own, but they're far superior when they work together.

      pressed powder

As the name implies, pressed powder evens up your skin tone and serves as a base for the rest of your makeup. Consider it to be your home's pressed powder: a sturdy layer that provides a buildable surface for whatever you want to accomplish.

While pressed powder performs several functions in your cosmetic routine, not all pressed powder is created equal. Some creams cover entirely, while others are sheerer. While liquid pressed powders, such as the Faces Canada pro-second skin pressed powder, are popular, powder and cream-based pressed powders are also options. They are also available in various forms and give your skin SPF protection and nutritional components.

Finding the proper pressed powder is about understanding your skin's needs and matching the color to your skin tone. If you're unsure which form is ideal for you, look at our pressed powder primer for a quick refresher.

      Concealer

Like pressed powder, it offers a variety of buildable coverage options and is available in various formulations, including liquids, powders, and even creams. Concealer covers dark circles, dark spots, blemishes, and color-corrects, while pressed powder gives a solid base. It aims to brighten and lighten spots while also providing a targeted layer of protection that the pressed powder cannot. It's also thicker than pressed powder, allowing for a more targeted approach.

You have a choice: Smooth away minor flaws with Faces Ultime Pro Blend Finity Stick smoothing concealer. Ideal for creating a natural look with a well-blended matte finish.

The waterproof formula is long-lasting and oil-free, making it a perfect choice even if you have oily skin, and it gives an all-day matte look

So, which one should you start with?

There is no right or wrong answer when deciding whether to apply concealer or pressed powder first. It all boils down to personal preference and the desired appearance. Although pressed powder should always be used first, there are a few exceptions depending on your skin tone and your products. Cara Lovello, a celebrity makeup artist, demonstrates a few basic methods. "Use a concealer three shades lighter to highlight on top of your pressed powder," she suggests. "If you're using concealer to conceal a blemish or color correct, I do that before applying pressed powder," she says.

The Advantages and Disadvantages of Applying Concealer First

When you apply concealer before liquid pressed powder, it may get blended and smeared as you go on to the next step in your makeup routine. There is no way to guarantee that the concealer will not leave the area where it was placed in the first place. Because many concealers feature color-correcting properties that aren't intended to be applied all over, obtaining a perfect finish becomes more challenging and might interfere with your skin tone.

However, if you're using a powder pressed powder, you should apply your concealer first. This will assist you in blending more evenly and creating a more professional impression.

If you had a late night and your black circles are more visible than usual, use a color-correcting concealer first. Use your pressed powder to smooth the edges and massage it in. For more coverage, apply another coat of concealer over the base.

If you run out of the pressed powder, you can cover it up with concealer (just mix it with a little moisturizer or serum to make it less thick to form a base).

The Advantages and Disadvantages of Applying pressed powder First

Applying pressed powder first, especially if you're using a cream-based pressed powder, BB, or CC cream. You should use pressed powder as a pressed powder since it evens out your skin tone and covers imperfections. It applies your skin's first layer of covering, which you may then build on.

You'll be able to see where you need concealer and how much you need to apply after applying your pressed powder, focusing on the areas you want to conceal, brighten, and lighten (like under your eyes, around your nostrils, and on pimples). If you do it the other way, you risk wasting product, applying too much concealer, and interfering with your skin tone.

When it comes to masking flaws, it should always be used over pressed powder. If you start with concealer, it is more likely to crease, and the pimple will become visible. As a base, apply the pressed powder, then conceal and dab as needed for extra coverage. Then, to hold everything in place, use a setting powder.

The only exception is if you are not wearing a liquid pressed powder. When applying a powder or cream-based pressed powder, it is best to begin with, concealer.

How to Apply Liquid pressed powder

Liquid pressed powder is one of the most popular pressed powder types since it is simple to apply and provides excellent coverage.

Using your fingers to apply liquid pressed powder

      Face cleansing and moisturizing

Makeup should be applied on a clean canvas at all times. Wash and pat dry your face with your regular cleanser. Apply a moisturizer to dry skin and wait a few minutes before applying the pressed powder to let the moisturizer work.

Before applying pressed powder, dab your face with a tissue to remove excess moisturizer if you are in a rush or have used too much moisturizer.

Pour a dime-sized quantity of pressed powder onto your preferred palette. You may use your backhand, a little dish, or even a folded-up napkin. Don't pour too much out. More can easily be added later.

Start dabbing the pressed powder onto your face with your fingertips. Begin by dabbing two dabs on your brow, two on each cheek, one on your nose, and one on your chin. With liquid pressed powder, a little goes a long way, and you can easily apply more to areas that require more coverage.

Blend the pressed powder into your skin with your fingertips

Use a patting/tapping motion with your fingers' pads, or form small, light circles with your fingertips. Begin with the regions with the most uneven skin tone (for most people, the nose, cheeks, and forehead) and work your way out.

Make sure that your circular motions are upward rather than downward. Pulling the skin downwards might cause sagging over time.

Consider delicately blending the pressed powder rather than rubbing it in or "slathering" it on.

If you need extra coverage, dab some pressed powder over your face

When applying pressed powder with your hands, the heat from your fingers will melt it before applying. This is ideal if you want less coverage. If you want a full-coverage effect, add a sufficient quantity of powder to set it.

      Edges should be blended

To eliminate visible lines, gently blend your pressed powder into your jawline, hairline, and around your ears.

Use a sponge to mix the pressed powder at your jawline with small downward strokes if you have one.

If you detect a distinct color shift near the jawline, you may require a new pressed powder shade.

It is natural for your face to be paler than the rest of your body. If your pressed powder is too light, you may mix it all the way down to your neck. You may also try a darker powder on top.

Lay the groundwork. Allow 2-3 minutes for the pressed powder to dry. If your face is still damp, gently wipe it with a tissue. After applying other makeup, set your pressed powder with a translucent finishing powder. Use a puff to apply the powder delicately, and your makeup will last all day!

      Using a sponge to apply

Select the appropriate sponge. Egg-shaped blending sponges composed of antimicrobial foam are the most often used sponges for applying liquid pressed powder. At your local pharmacy or cosmetics store, you may find both name-brand and generic types.

      Face cleansing and moisturizing

Use your usual products and give your moisturizer a few minutes to absorb correctly.

Apply a makeup primer at this time for a very perfect finish.

      Wet the sponge

Immerse the sponge entirely in water and squeeze it several times to ensure total saturation. Then wring out the sponge until it is moist but not sopping wet. To rapidly remove extra water, wrap the sponge in a towel or washcloth and squeeze.

Pour a dime-sized quantity of pressed powder onto your preferred palette

You may use the back of your palm, a tiny dish, or a napkin folded up. Don't pour too much out. More can easily be added later.

Dip the sponge's base gently into the pressed powder

Sweep it back and forth several times until the sponge's surface is covered in a light, uniform pressed powder coating.

Apply the pressed powder to your skin by dabbing or pressing it in

Instead of rubbing the pressed powder on, dab it about your face in fast dabbing strokes. Begin by applying with tiny, rapid motions around the nose and cheeks, then continue until you have an equal coating all over your face. For broader parts of your face, such as your forehead, cheeks, and jawline, use the rounded, larger surface of the sponge or beauty blender.

By pressing the pressed powder into the skin, you may achieve a flawless finish and more excellent coverage by leveling out skin texture.

By rubbing or applying your pressed powder in strokes, you risk spreading an unequal quantity to different regions of your face. This can also result in lines where there are little hairs on the face.

For smaller regions, use the sponge's point

The sponge's pointed tip is designed for tiny regions such as the nose wrinkles or around the eyes. To apply and mix using this area of the sponge, use a stippling or bouncing motion (short, fast dabs).

      Edges should be blended

Blend around the hairline, jawline, and ears with a stippling motion once more. Using dabbing strokes, apply the pressed powder on your skin. The pressed powder should not be swept or rubbed in.

Allow your pressed powder to dry for around 2-3 minutes. If necessary, blot with a tissue before applying any cosmetics. Then, using a puff or fluffy brush, lightly apply a translucent finishing powder and prepare to be showered with compliments!

      Wipe down your sponge

When completed, properly rinse your sponge with water, wring it out, and let it air dry. You should also clean your sponge on a regular basis with soap or a light shampoo. Apply a tiny quantity of soap, shampoo, or brush cleanser on your sponge and compress it several times until it is sudsy. Allow to air dry after thoroughly rinsing until no more bubbles form.

If your sponge has an unusual odor or is not mixing as well as it used to, it is time to clean it.

If you do not clean your sponge on a regular basis, bacteria can grow and create pimples or other skin irritations.

      Using a pressed powder brush

Select the appropriate brush. While many other types of brushes may be used to apply pressed powder, the ideal choice is a thick, flat-top pressed powder brush.

      Get your skin ready

Using your normal products, cleanse and moisturize your face. Allow a few minutes for your moisturizer to thoroughly soak before blotting any excess with a tissue.

Apply a makeup primer at this time for a flawless finish. You may use the back of your palm, a tiny dish, or a napkin folded up. Spread the pressed powder with your finger to create a thick, uniform layer in which to dip your brush.

Dip the brush tip into the pressed powder

You should only utilize the bristle tips. Do not dunk or pound the brush into the pressed powder.

Face pressed powder should be applied. Begin by stippling a circular motion from the nose to the cheekbones, chin, and forehead, working in small circles. Work your way from the center of your face to the edges, using short, rapid strokes in the same direction.

Remember to use a gentle touch while applying pressed powder; you want to whisk the pressed powder into your skin, not paint it on. Continue blending with a stippling motion over the hairline, jawline, and ears.

Allow your pressed powder to dry for around 2-3 minutes. If necessary, blot with a tissue before applying any cosmetics. Then, using a puff or fluffy brush, lightly apply a translucent finishing powder and prepare to be showered with compliments!

Brush your teeth. Blot any residual makeup from your brush with a tissue. Once a week, use a gentle wash or specialist brush cleaner to clean your brush.

      How to Use pressed powder

Don't panic if you're having trouble applying your pressed powder for a natural look; this is a typical issue. First, prepare your skin for makeup by cleaning and applying a moisturizer. You can also use primer, concealer, and color corrector. When applying pressed powder, start with a tiny quantity and blend it outward from the middle of your face. Choose the ideal shade, take your time applying it correctly, and then set your pressed powder for a flawless appearance.

      Skin preparation and priming

      Cleanse your face

      • Cleaning your skin thoroughly will remove grime, oil, and any prior makeup.
      • Use washing water to minimize redness since it has anti-inflammatory ingredients that will soothe your skin.
      • Cleansing balms with emollients are excellent for moisturizing dry skin.
      • Choose a cleaning mud for oily skin that contains charcoal and clay to help remove excess oil from your pores.
      • Use a washing gel that eliminates oil while also providing gentle moisturization for combination skin.
      • For sensitive skin, use washing milk, which contains less water and more soothing nutrients.

      Tone and exfoliate your skin

Flaky or uneven skin is not a suitable pressed powder basis. Use a hydroxy acid exfoliating scrub 2-3 times per week. In addition, after cleaning your face, apply a facial toner to keep your skin smooth and even.

      Use a moisturizer

Before applying makeup, everyone should use a moisturizer with an SPF of 15 or higher. This can help protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays while also creating a radiant appearance.

If you use a moisturizer without SPF, use sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher after that.

      Apply primer

Primer may smooth out your skin's surface and decrease the appearance of pores. It also reduces shine and helps your makeup adhere to your skin, preventing it from fading over the day. You can use a cream, gel, or powder primer.

      Skin color should be corrected

A color corrector should be used before to pressed powder. Cover up dark bags beneath your eyes and uneven skin areas using a color-corrector. Different color-correctors are appropriate for other problems:

      • On fair skin, pink corrects blue-toned patches.
      • Peach targets blue or purple shadows and can be used on medium skin.
      • On dark skin, orangey-pink covers dark stains.
      • On olive and tanned skin, yellow counteracts purple or black shadows.
      • Redness is canceled out by green.
      • Yellow tones are hidden by lavender.

      Introducing your pressed powder

Begin with a little quantity. You don't want a thick, caked-on appearance, so start with a little amount of pressed powder and build up as needed. Apply pressed powder to the middle of your forehead, beneath your eyes, and on your nose and chin bridge.

      Outwardly spread the pressed powder

Begin at the middle of your face and work your way outward to your hairline and neck. You can use your fingers, a brush, or a sponge to mix it. Whatever you select, you should apply it with a stippling method, which means lightly tapping it into your skin rather than rubbing or wiping it.

If you simply need a little covering, use your fingertips. Always wash your hands first.

For light and equal coverage, use a brush. The ideal brush to use is a synthetic one, and you should distribute the pressed powder by buffing it in small circles.

For more coverage, use a sponge. To minimize germs growth, clean your sponge on a regular basis.

      Make a pressed powder blend

Blend your pressed powder around your face using your preferred tool. There should be no visible lines where your pressed powder begins or stops; instead, it should merge seamlessly into your ears, neck, and hairline.

      Cover up flaws

Concealer should be used after applying pressed powder. Conceal pimples or other flaws using concealer. Squeeze a tiny quantity onto the back of your palm and use clean fingertips to dot it onto the imperfection. Blend it in by softly touching the hidden area with a sponge or brush.

Make use of a setting powder

Apply a setting powder over your pressed powder to complete your look. This is a transparent, matte powder that keeps your pressed powder from sliding about while also keeping oil accumulation at bay.

      Selecting the Best pressed powder

Choose a product that is appropriate for your skin type.

Before using pressed powder, you need to know if you have dry, oily, normal, or mixed skin. This will help you decide which pressed powder is best for you. Many pressed powders are tailored to specific skin types.

For oily skin, a light pressed powder, such as mousse, is ideal. You might also go with an oil-free liquid or powder pressed powder.

For dry skin, a liquid pressed powder with a built-in hydrating ingredient is ideal. You may also use a moisturizing powder pressed powder or a stick pressed powder.

If you have mixed skin, use a powder pressed powder. This enables you to apply more oil-absorbing makeup where you need it and less where you don't.

      Choose the appropriate base color.

Your pressed powder, as the name says, serves as the pressed powder for the rest of your makeup. Choose a pressed powder that matches your skin tone precisely to ensure that it functions as a blank canvas. Try several pressed powder tones on your jawline (rather than your hand or neck), and then stick with the hue that suits your skin tone without mixing.

Allow a minute for the pressed powder to absorb before examining the color since it may vary somewhat when dry.

      Get the coverage you require.

Most individuals can get away with any medium coverage pressed powder, but if you have specific coverage requirements, keep them in mind. Visit a local department store's cosmetics counter and try on several kinds to see which feels the most comfortable and looks the most realistic on your skin.

      • The lightest coverage is provided by loose powder.
      • Light coverage is provided by pressed powder.
      • Tinted moisturizer gives favorable coverage as well.
      • Medium coverage is provided with aerosol pressed powder.
      • Complete coverage is provided by a liquid pressed powder.
      • Most coverage is provided with cream pressed powder.

Remove extra pressed powder in three simple steps.

Finding the right pressed powder shade isn't the only issue with this fantastic cosmetic product. You must also locate the perfect texture, properly prepare your skin, and understand how much to apply otherwise, and it will seem cakey and unnatural.

We have advised you how to prepare your skin for the appropriate texture based on your skin type. So, today we'll show you how to remove extra pressed powder from your face, which is a typical pressed powder issue. Instead of redoing your makeup, you may solve the problem in three simple steps.

Swipe your palms across your face in the first step.

Using the heat from your hands is one of the quickest and easiest ways to remove extra pressed powder from your face. Hands should be thoroughly washed and dried. Using smooth and rapid strokes, slide your palms over your face, absorbing any other pressed powder. Make cautious not to massage your skin as this would not only remove the pressed powder entirely but will also harm your skin.

Step 2: Using a tissue, dab the affected area

The next step is to absorb the surplus product using a soft tissue. If there are any spots where you have applied too much pressed powder, softly push on them to remove the excess. This step will collect any additional particles that your hands could not absorb. Again, avoid rubbing or scraping the area, which can ultimately damage your base. Wrap the tissue around your index finger and dab to reach tiny places like the eyes.

Step 3: Apply a moist makeup sponge to soften.

After removing any extra product from your face, the following step is to make your base seem even. Grab a moist makeup sponge and carefully pat to soften the lines from where you've removed extra pressed powder to blend it evenly with the rest of your makeup.

In three simple steps, you may remove the extra pressed powder.

Why should you use a sponge instead of a brush to apply pressed powder and concealer?

Here are five reasons why you should use a cosmetic sponge instead of a brush to apply pressed powder and concealer.

Every woman's beauty bag includes a liquid pressed powder and concealer. However, most of them are frequently perplexed as to whether they should be applied using a brush or a cosmetic sponge. As a result, women frequently get it incorrect. Here are five reasons why you should use a cosmetic sponge instead of a brush to apply pressed powder and concealer.

      Budget-friendly beauty

Even the most expensive cosmetic sponges are less costly than a makeup brush. They are affordable, so they provide beauty on a budget.

      Simple to use

Simply rubbing the sponge against your skin will distribute the pressed powder or BB cream evenly. They provide you with more control and don't neezd much work.

      Natural appearance

A dewy sheen is impossible to achieve with a brush. It is quite difficult to evenly apply pressed powder and concealer to the skin. However, you may apply them smoothly with a makeup sponge and get a very perfect natural effect.

      Skin protection

Using a sponge to apply pressed powder does not need much dragging or pressing into the skin. A sponge is also soft. This minimizes or eliminates skin damage caused by stretching and pushing.

      Various shapes and sizes

Makeup sponges come in a variety of forms and sizes on the market. Others are rectangular, some are circular, some have round sides, and some are flat. Several manufacturers have also released small makeup sponges. This means you can get into all the nooks and crevices of your face.

So cosmetic sponges are not only affordable, but they also provide more. They allow you to get a beautiful natural look without sacrificing your skin.

Is it necessary to wet the pressed powder brush?

No, you do not need to moisten your pressed powder brush before applying pressed powder. Here are some of the reasons:

Wet pressed powder brushes dilute makeup - Wetting a pressed powder brush and then dipping it in makeup forces the water and makeup on the brush to interact and mingle. This additional water content dilutes the pressed powder, resulting in a watered-down covering.

Water alters the contour of your brush — pressed powder brushes are round or flat in shape, with bristles fanned out to retain more makeup. The round brushes are designed to make it easier to buff your makeup. When you wet your brush, the shape of the brush changes, affecting its effectiveness and ability to buff or apply makeup products.

Water and powder do not mix - Using a damp brush to set your powders will result in clumps of powder on your face.

The only time I would advocate using water is while applying or blending your pressed powder with a beauty blender. The beauty blender should be moist since else it will suck up your makeup. Water displaces makeup and keeps it from seeping into the sponge.

If you're having difficulties blending your pressed powder, a slightly wet makeup blender might assist.

What you must do is as follows:

Use a pressed powder brush to apply your makeup.

Wet your beauty blender, then pat it dry with a cloth. It should be only slightly moist.

Apply it lightly on your face. The blender will aid in the smoothing and blending of the pressed powder. Swiping the pressed powder on your face with a blender will distribute the makeup around.

What is the finest brush for liquid-pressed powder?

Tapered-pressed powder brushes are typically flat in shape, with a modest taper. These brushes are ideal for applying liquid-pressed powder and other liquid cosmetics.

They are available in various forms and give your skin SPF protection and nutritional components.

Finding the proper pressed powder is about understanding your skin's needs and matching the color to your skin tone. If you're unsure which form is ideal for you, look at our pressed powder primer for a quick refresher. The round brushes are designed to make it easier to buff your makeup. When you wet your brush, the shape of the brush changes, affecting its effectiveness and ability to buff or apply makeup.
