      Beautiful palette

This palette is absolutely beautiful. Its an 18 shadow palette with a mix of matte and satin shades. Its very similar to the desert dusk palette from huda beauty. The blendability is great and so is the pigment. The lid is plastic but the actual weight of the palette is a bit heavy since there is quite a bit of product in each pan. I highly recommend this for anyone who love to do looks for not only every day but a bit of glam for an evening out.

What is Ultime Pro Starry Eyes The Ultimate 18 Eyeshadow

Ever since I got this palette, I haven't been able to put it down. Not only are the shades great, but the formula seems to be amazing! I was really surprised by how blendable and soft the shadows were and they lasted all day long on my eyes without creasing, which can be rare with some other brands out there today. If you are in the market for an incredible eyeshadow palette best, check out faces Canada! I promise you won’t regret it!

      1) Shades of blue

There’s an unspoken rule that one has to buy a new palette each time Urban Decay releases a new Naked eyeshadow palette. That got us thinking—what if we just bought four shades from Naked 3, and used those over and over again?

We tried it, and we can happily report that it works beautifully! Three of our favorite shades are loaded into Starry Eyes, including Foxy (cream), Limit (nude-pink), and Nooner (muted mauve). These three shades are safe bets for any eye color; you can use them on their own or as an easy transition shade. You should probably just get Starry Eyes. It’s adorable—and surprisingly convenient.

      2) Shades of brown

Choose shades of brown and bronze when you want a more natural eye. These colors complement every eye color and skin tone. Another option is to combine one shade of brown with one shade of purple or navy blue. This will help make your eyes appear bigger than they are. Even if you have small eyes, these colors will make them look more expressive, as well as elongate your face.

      3) Shades of green

Whether it’s emerald, kelly, or minty, green is a color you can use almost year-round to look stylish. It’s flattering on people with all skin tones, too. Faces Canada Color Riche Eye Shadow in Plum Pavé is subtle and sexy—great for daytime or evening wear.

Pat onto lids using your ring finger or brush on a tiny bit of concealer as a primer first for a more intense color payoff. Don't overdo it though; keep things light and let your eyes do most of the talking!

      4) Shades of purple

It's not your imagination—there are more grey and silver products hitting store shelves every day. Pantone named greige one of its color trends for 2014 (despite it being on-trend for 2013).

For those who don't want to follow suit, there are plenty of ways to incorporate tones that evoke sophistication and urban chic. Pair them with matte finishes or keep them in tone with shiny hues for an eye-catching look that works as hard as you do.

      5) Shades of grey

With shades ranging from silver to charcoal, grey eyeshadow palette are great for neutral looks and can be paired with any color. To get a subtle smoky effect, try applying a taupe shadow just on your lower lash line or use grey as an accent color by highlighting your brow bone with it.

This neutral color is also an ideal base for colorful hues such as pink, yellow, or teal that would appear too bright when applied over darker shades. Plus, because grey has no red undertones (blue and green have them), it's flattering for blue and green-eyed gals. Paired with brown or hazel eyes?

      6) Shades of white

We wanted to include a range of shades in our palette, so we went with three shades of white eyeshadow palette —all of which can be used to achieve different looks. Our white shadows are pure pigment, so they’re great for highlighting or as a highlighter base.

We also included two pearlized shades that lend an eye-catching sheen when applied wet and one duo-chrome shade that creates an iridescent effect. Plus, one can never have too many neutrals! These four silky smooth matte shadows are perfect for blending or using alone. If you're partial to natural makeup looks, these will quickly become your go-to shadow colors for everything from day to night looks!

      7) Close up photos

First, close up photos of every color. When I say close up, I mean an actual representation of how that color looks on your face. Don’t just show a photo of it in a palette or box, because those colors won’t look like that on anyone but you.

Find other ways to show people what it looks like when it's applied to the skin using photography! Each shade should have at least one really good quality photo that helps other people decide if they would like to purchase it or not. Remember, all eyeshadow palettes are different and require different application techniques so always list some tips for how you apply them!

What it does for your makeup

The starry eyeshadow palette adds depth to your overall look, which is ideal for events like parties and weddings. This look is also one of those where you can go bold or subtle depending on how much eye makeup you opt for.

How to use Ultime Pro Starry Eyes The Ultimate 18 Eyeshadow

Faces Canada recently released its newest addition to the Ultimate Pro eyeshadow palette line-up, the aptly named Ultimate Pro Starry Eyes Eyeshadow. A multi-tasking eyeshadow that can create dozens of looks, it’s about to become your new best friend in your makeup bag. Check out our quick how-to guide on how to use this innovative product!

      The Look

Going for a look that’s out of this world? We’ve created an artistic-inspired tutorial with all kinds of tips and tricks, including how to pick your base eyeshadow palette color, how to create depth using additional shades, and how you can go from a daytime look to nighttime glam with just one sweep of these shadows, plus more!

Watch our professional makeup artist/blogger Renae Bryant as she takes you through each step. She has even included a handy dandy list of products you'll need. There's no better way for beauty lovers (newbies or pros) to get ready for fall. Get ready for some star-studded fun!

      Step 1 – Prime

Before applying any makeup, be sure to prime your eyelids. This step is extremely important, as it serves as a barrier between your skin and all of that eye makeup that you’re about to apply. You can use an eyeshadow palette primer or any other type of primer if you don’t have one on hand.

Just remember that not every product will work for everyone, so choose something based on what works best for your skin type. The last thing you want is to end up with puffy, irritated eyes after putting all of that effort into making yourself look great!

Step 2 – Choose Your Base Color

Use a primer or a cream base, depending on your needs. If you're looking for a long-lasting eyeshadow palette that is crease-proof, use an eye shadow primer first. Apply with a brush or clean fingertips. If you have oily eyelids or simply want a richer color payoff, apply eye shadow primer before your base color.

Eye shadow bases are typically lighter in shade than shadows; primers are white, while cream bases can be translucent when applied on top of other products like foundation (if used as a lightening base) or they can be pink if used as an eye area corrector (due to its slight reddish hue).

Step 3 – Choose a Second Color to Blend with the First

Highlighting your eyes with a light pencil or powder will make them appear larger. You can also use a white eyeliner pencil or liquid highlighter for added drama. For nighttime wear, go black! Pencil liner comes in an array of textures that can be used wet or dry depending on what you’re looking for. Liquid liners are very precise—you can create thin, bold lines, as well as exaggerated cat-eye flicks.

Step 4 – Highlight, Line, and Define

The key to a doll-like eye is proper highlighting, lining, and defining of your eyes. Always start by curling your lashes and applying mascara. This will ensure that you have a bright, wide-eyed look from day tonight. Next, highlight your inner eye with a light shimmer shadow such as Faces Canada Super Shock Shadow in Barely Legal or Faces Canada Shimmering Skin Perfector in Pearl. The line underneath your lash line is as close to it as possible for long-lasting definition.

      Final Touchup

Glitter on your eyelids might sound like a good idea in theory—it's sparkly!—but if you want your eyeshadow palette look to last all day, a little bit of glitter goes a long way. To get started, make sure that your foundation is completely dry by giving it some extra time before applying loose or pressed powder over it.

Then, dust eyeshadows with a soft brush until you achieve just enough shimmer for an understated look. Don't go overboard here—glitter looks great but it can quickly overshadow any other aspects of your makeup look if used too liberally. Finish off by adding a highlighter on cheekbones, brow bones, and inner corners of eyes for a bright-eyed effect.

How to match Ultime Pro Starry Eyes The Ultimate 18 Eyeshadow shades with your outfit

There are two ways to wear an eyeshadow palette: you can either wear it as part of your makeup look, or you can use it to complement your clothing and complete your style look. If you want to find the perfect shade of Ultime Pro Starry Eyes eye shadow to match your outfit, these quick tips will help you find the right colors and learn how to use them with your wardrobe!

      Top 5 nude eyeshadows

Here are 5 of our favorite shades: Diamonds & Pearls, a matte taupe; Smoky Shimmer, a shimmery eggplant; Smoke & Mirrors, a dark burgundy-brown; Smoke Signal, an earthy brown with metallic flecks of gold and silver; and finally Stardust, an iridescent cream that can work on its own or be paired with any of our other shades. No matter what look you're going for, there's a Ultime Pro Starry Eyes eyeshadow palette out there for you.

      Top 5 light browns

These shades can be used on their own or as a base: S02 - Champagne, S04 - Honey-Gold, S07 - Camel, S14 - Milk Chocolate, and S15 - Mocha Latte. With a mix of warm and cool undertones, these colors go with just about any look. (Never wear shadows with different undertones; it'll make you look sick!)

How to use: Sweep Honey-Gold across your lid up toward your brow bone. Blend in Champagne along cheekbones and cupid's bow, then line lips with Mocha Latte pencil liner. Finish by applying Plum Mauve across the entire eyelid using a fluffy brush.

Shades to match denim, black and white outfits

Brown, Champagne, or Sand: Choose Brown if you're wearing a neutral color such as black, denim, or white. If you want something with some shimmer, try Champagne. If you want a little bit of pop, go with sand. It's very similar to gold but just not as bold; it has brown undertones and a lot of shine. You can wear gold with an all-black ensemble but that might be too dramatic for the day. Brown is more subtle and also works well with other shades like green or blue.

How to blend Ultime Pro Starry Eyes The Ultimate 18 Eyeshadow

The eye has to be one of the most important features of the face and it can be the most difficult to get right, especially when working with an eyeshadow palette glitter. We’ve all had those moments when we’ve chosen an eyeshadow color but then when we apply it to our lids, it doesn't look quite as expected. In this guide, I will show you how to blend perfectly using the Ultime Pro Starry Eyes eyeshadow palette nude from Faces Canada to create that perfect smokey eye look and many other looks too!

Why I love Faces Canada Cosmetics

Faces Canada products are 100% cruelty-free and they're at a great price! The powder eye shadows are super pigmented and a little goes a long way! There's also an assortment of colors that you can choose from! Faces Canada is available online and in stores at Ulta and CVS drugstores, Target, Walgreens, Amazon, Morphe Brushes, etc. Below I have written my first impressions of their product line as well as swatches of 4 different colors from their Ultimate 18 eyeshadow palette affordable.

Blending is an art, but you can learn it!

Beauty blending is an art. You may think that you have what it takes, but it might take some practice before you can achieve flawless results every time—especially if you’re using a palette like The Ultimate 18 eyeshadow palette matte which features 18 color shades (hence, its name!).

If you want to make sure that your blending is on point every time, then try using one of our favorite blending brushes: E05 or E40! These handy tools will allow you to apply color softly and precisely in just a few easy strokes. Because when it comes to makeup application, we all want things done quickly and easily!

      First Choose A Color

When choosing a color for your eye shadow, first think about what you're trying to do. Are you going for a bold look? Or something soft and natural? Knowing which kind of look you want will help narrow down your color options. If you have any idea of what colors flatter your skin tone, now is also an appropriate time to use that knowledge as well. From there, take a look at your palette and decide on color from among them. While doing so, keep in mind that it's always easier to add more color than it is to remove it!

      Use An Eye Shadow Brush

When you're working from lid to crease, focus on your desired look and begin blending from your lash line out toward your outer corner (crease). You want to be sure that you're blending out toward your temple—you don't want a line of shadow against your skin or a harsh contour under your eye; that would draw attention away from all of those hard-earned lashes!

Instead, use a medium shadow color over lids that have a slight shine but still have a matte finish, allowing for more intensity in color payoff. For blending into deeper colors, take an angled brush and use short strokes at first (without going directly into your deep brown shade) until you can slowly build up color as you go along.

      Work From Lid To Crease

Using a firm, flat brush, place it in your crease and use circular motions to pack on the shadow. Locate where your lid meets your brow bone, and go up and over that area using a triangle shape; make sure you don't go above your crease—unless you want a more dramatic look! Then go back down along your lash line towards your nose. This will create dimension without looking overdone.

Blend Smoothly From Lid To Outward

To look awake and fresh, use a darker color on your waterline and in your eye corners, but don’t go too dark; you don’t want it to appear like you’re wearing a thick layer of black eyeliner. A matte brown or gray work well for daytime looks; a deep plum or brown works well for evening looks.

You can also try liquid liner in an ultra-thin line right at your lash line (close to your lashes) instead of powder shadow applied there; it makes that part of your eyes pop while still keeping things looking natural, but is easier to apply than traditional liquid eyeliner because it dries quickly and doesn't require as steady a hand.

On The Waterline And In Corners Of Your Eye

If you’re using a matte shadow, dusting it on your waterline is a great way to open up your eyes without adding too much color (though if you want, you can also use cream shadows for a similar effect). I love that Milani shadows are such good dupes for high-end ones.

They're super affordable and do just as good of a job at brightening up my lids and making me look more awake. We've gotten so used to using golds or bronzes on our lids in recent years that it's easy to forget how well lighter shades can open up your face when they're used in more unconventional areas.

How to do a smokey eye

The smokey eye is one of the most classic and effective eye makeup styles in existence. The key to pulling off this look successfully, however, isn’t in what you do with your shadow but how you do it. If you get it wrong, you’ll end up looking like an extra from a Hollywood production of Casablanca, but if you choose the right colors and execute carefully, the effect can be striking enough to take over your entire face. Follow our step-by-step guide to applying the perfect smokey eye and start turning heads wherever you go!

      Step 1 – Preparation

Before applying any makeup product to your face, you must start by properly preparing your skin. To do so, wash your face with warm water and gently pat dry. Don't forget to remove all makeup from around your eyes using a makeup remover or an oil-based cleanser. All of these actions will prep your skin for foundation application.

      Step 2 - Base Color

Apply a dark gray/black eyeshadow over your entire eyelid. You can use a single color or you can build up multiple layers to intensify your look. Be sure to blend well so that you don't end up with harsh lines of demarcation between your lid and brow bone.

Depending on how dramatic you want your smokey eye to be, it's fine if some of your eyeliner bleeds over onto your upper eyelid area as long as it doesn't bother you that there's little contrast. The key is to keep one layer simple rather than doing heavy linework as part of one step since that will result in an overly thick or too-dark final product which takes away from its beauty rather than enhancing it by definition.

      Step 3 - Lining Eyes

The final step to completing a perfect smokey eye is lining your eyes. The line you choose depends on your preferred look. There are endless possibilities. For example, if you want to create an intense smokey eye you might use a thicker line or apply more lines near each other (think raccoon).

Step 4 - Darken Outer Corners

If you look closely at makeup artists' smoky eye work, you'll see that one of their favorite tricks is to darken up the outer corners of eyes by sweeping a gray-taupe shadow along those areas.

Using a cotton swab or your finger (it's easier to get into smaller spaces with your fingers than a brush), do just that. The darker color will help make your eye look wider and larger (duh), while also adding depth to your look. Remember to blend! How else are you going to hide any harsh lines?

      Step 5 - Blend Outwards

Once you’ve defined your eyes with shadow (and liner), it’s important to blend outwards. This will ensure that you don’t end up with an overly harsh line of color where your eyeliner ends. It's also a necessary step to add depth to your look.

If you find blending difficult, there are plenty of tutorials on Youtube that break down eye makeup applications into simple steps! The most common mistake women make when applying eyeshadow palette collection is over-packing on product; use a clean eyeshadow brush that isn’t too full and apply gently for best results.

      How to prep eyes

Before you even apply the eyeshadow palette big, make sure to prep your lids by gently patting them with a clean, damp cloth. This will help ensure your makeup lasts as long as possible.

How to use eye shadow as blush

Using eye shadow as a blush is a great hack to use on your own or to show others when you're at a makeup tutorial. This can be done by either sweeping cream eyeshadow palette for beginners underneath your regular powder blush for added intensity or dabbing bright red matte color on top of powder blush for a complementary pop of color. Either way, the eyeshadow palette small blends very well with the skin and can be used as a finishing touch to complete any eye look.

How to make Ultime Pro Starry Eyes The Ultimate 18 Eyeshadow last

The key to making Ultime Pro Starry Eyes The Ultimate 18 eyeshadow palette shimmer last is to apply powder or primer after your eyeshadow. Powder helps lock in colors for hours, and primer ensures that colors stay vibrant on long days without creasing. Put down those brushes! Instead, opt for a cosmetic sponge applicator or a flat-tipped makeup brush to blend colors into one another seamlessly.

Ultime Pro Starry Eyes The Ultimate 18 Eyeshadow tutorial for beginners

The first thing you need to do is find a primer that’s perfect for your skin type. Those with normal to oily skin will benefit from a silicone-based primer, which helps fight shine without sucking up your foundation and concealer. Those with drier skin should use a cream formula like Faces Canada Camera Ready CC Cream. The second step is choosing an eyeshadow palette with colorful shades that are great for beginners!

Ultime Pro Starry Eyes The Ultimate 18 Eyeshadow tips and tricks

Eyeshadow is one of those makeup products that can be intimidating to use, but with a little practice, it's possible to master. Genius eyeshadow palette professional hacks and tips that will have you feeling confident about applying shadows in no time.

Ultime Pro Starry Eyes The Ultimate 18 Eyeshadow hacks

Whether you’re the type of girl who wears bright eyeshadow palette brand colors every day or prefers to have a more subtle look, knowing how to make your eyeshadow last longer will save you time and effort every single day. I’ve spent years learning how to apply eye makeup to make my eyes pop, and I can tell you that I’ve tried nearly every trick in the book! By following these 8 genius eyeshadow hacks, you’ll never have to worry about your eyeshadow palette pigmented creasing or fading ever again!

      Get Rid of Frizzy Hair

Spritz a bit of hairspray on your hands and scrunch your hair with them. The heat from your hands will slightly melt it, creating a workable texture. Repeat until you’ve done all of your hair, then let dry naturally or with a blow-dryer. This works especially well on natural curls! And because of how much product you use to make each section, hairspray lasts forever! One small can should be enough for several months—and that's if you use it every day!

      Darken Your Eyes

If you're feeling a little blah about your eyes, try using your go-to eye shadow colors differently. For example, if you have a brownish taupe shade that you normally use as an all-over lid color, apply it to your crease instead.

Blend it into your natural crease with an angled brush to create depth and bring out your eyes. If blue is one of your favorite hues to wear on your lid, try patting a dark blue shade in a shimmery finish just above where it hits to make them pop. If bronze is one of your preferred shades for bronzing and highlighting, sweep some of that color along your lower lash line and then dab on some liquid liner right above it for extra oomph.

      Keep Shadow from Creasing

One of my pet peeves about eyeshadow is that it’s always creasing by noon. Unfortunately, I have oily skin so I know a lot of you can relate to me here. The good news is that there’s a really easy way to keep your eyeshadow palette with a brush from creasing: all you need is an eyelash curler!

All you have to do is curl your lashes and then hold them in place with an eyelash curler for around 15 seconds—you can even hold it over your eye like pictured above if you don’t have someone else around to help you. When you release, let go slowly as pulling away abruptly could cause some damage. This hack works for eyeliner too!

      Apply Powder Correctly

One of my favorite hacks is to use loose powder with a large fluffy brush. Simply dip your brush into your loose powder, tap off any excess, and then swipe over your lids. This will set your eyeshadow palette (so you can wear it all day long without creasing or smudging) and give a healthy glow to your lids. Plus, it saves you from buying a dedicated setting powder! See an example here

      Fix Broken Shadow

Color blocking has been a huge trend in hair for a few years now, but it’s making waves in eyeshadow applications as well. This simple technique can give you crazy-intense color or blend several shades to create an ultra-smoky eye—just be sure to apply your base eyeshadow palette neutral and any other colors before you start experimenting with your blocks.

Here are two examples of how you might use color blocking: Color block 1: Blend black, brown, and white on your lid, then use a bit of pink or lilac along the bottom lash line. Color block 2: Take three shades of blue—one darker than the other two—and put them side by side on your lid. Then blend upward into white at your brow bone.

      Experiment with Color Blocking

One of my favorite makeup tips for creating a bold eye look is simply doing a color block instead of blending. Take two different shades of eyeshadow palette rose gold and create one shadow over your entire lid, making sure to keep a clean line between both colors. (To do: Line your eyes first so that you don't have to worry about getting it perfect on your first try!)

Then apply the second shade around your eye in circular motions before using a brush or finger to blend it in. It's really easy and will bring more attention to whatever color combinations you choose! Here are some examples

Highlight with an Eye Shadow Brush

The best way to highlight is with an eyeshadow palette kit brush and lighter colored eyeshadow. Pick up a light shade and lightly brush it along your brow bone, under your eyebrow, and on the inside corner of your eye. This will make you look more awake than if you just used a white or nude-colored highlighter! Applying with an eye shadow brush ensures you won't end up looking like a raccoon.

      Get Long-Lasting Color on Lids

Liquid eyeshadow palette gold can be great for creating a bold, smoky eye, but it’s hard to get them to last all day. To make your eyeshadow last longer, sweep a small amount of loose powder shadow (like Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion) on the lids.

The liquid liner you applied before will grab onto it and stay put all day long! Apply mascara over your eyeshadow palette green, as usual, to keep from clumping eyelashes and smudging shadow. It won't get in your way when you apply makeup later. Just use an old mascara brush or even a clean toothbrush to sweep off excess mascara.

      How to remove eyeshadow properly

Too Faced Cosmetics recently taught us how to remove our eyeshadow properly. Many of us used wipes or makeup remover, which can irritate us. To safely remove your eyeshadow at night, follow these steps:

      1) Add two-three drops of micellar water to a cotton ball.

      2) Scrub your eyeshadow palette red onto your eye with it (not directly into your eye).

      3) Gently rub it off with a towel.

      4) Spray on some toner to soothe any irritation you feel. Simple! No more itchiness and redness!
