Makeup Mistake 1: Choosing the Wrong Shade of Foundation

How to Avoid?

This mostly happens when you don’t now how to choose the right foundation shade and end up checking it on your wrist. We’ve all been there, done that. The solution is to choose the shade the right way—by checking it on your jawline area. This way, you will never choose the wrong foundation shade again!

And even if you’ve bought a wrong shade, mix the lighter shade with brown eyeshadow, and darker shade with moisturizer to correct it a bit.

Makeup Mistake 2: Applying Long-Stay Lipsticks that Are Drying!

How to Avoid?

We get a lot of long-lasting lipsticks these days. But most of them are super-drying because of the alcohol content in them. The solution is to look for chemical-free lipsticks that aren’t only long-lasting but also hydrating. One way to make sure is to check the ingredients–if there’s alcohol, it’s undoubtedly going to be dry & flaky.

Makeup Mistake 3:  Wearing non-waterproof kajal on your waterline

How to Avoid?

Choose a truly waterproof kajal! Pick one that is waterproof and smudge-resistant so you don’t have to worry even during the sweaty summers and smudgy monsoons! Also, if you have the kind of eyes that water a lot, make sure you use chemical-free makeup products for your eyes.

Makeup Mistake 4: Forgetting to Use the Makeup Fixer

How to Avoid?

All set with your makeup? But you’re probably not, because you’ve most likely ignored the most important part of it—fixing it! All makeup mishaps root from forgetting to use the makeup fixer. Solution? Use a makeup fixer! :) Don’t fret about using it at every step of your makeup—while & after blending your base, after your contouring, and in the end.

Makeup Mistake 5: Dragging the Brush While Blending

How to Avoid?

Well, in a way it’s simple—never drag the brush while blending your makeup. The correct way is to dab the brush. Dabbing is always the best way to blend, no matter what you’re working on—eyeshadows, blush, foundation. For highlighter, though, use a highlighter fan brush, and lightly fan the highlighter above your cheekbone, in small movements—but still, no dragging.

Makeup Mistake 6: Applying Eyeshadow without Primer

How to Avoid?

Always prime up your eyelids before applying eyeshadow. Not only will it make the colors look brighter, but make it long-lasting, smooth to blend, and make your glitters shine more! Don’t know what to use as an eyeshadow primer? You can use a hydrating, long-lasting concealer.
